There’s a couple of people I know – Jen, Nat, Helen, among others – with birthdays in April, and so plans were made to have a small get together to celebrate the aging ritual. Excitment! In both Melbourne AND Newcastle. (Boy, I’m sure going all out to celebrate me turning quarter of a century old.
)
Not to mention I’ve just gotten myself a hunk of birthday presents. I’m a badass bitch. WOot!

Holy fuck. It’s going to be a long long weekend for me. THIS is taking place pretty near to where I stay, and already, the noises coming from the tracks is enough to drive me mad. And it’s only the first of four days!!!!!
Time to get out those noise cancelling Sennheiser headphones of mine!
UPDATE on the latest purchase: it’s being processed for shipping from Sapporo in Hokkaido now!!!
I. DID. IT.
*jumps around in glee*
(Now I just need to wait for an EMS tracking number!!!)
(That, and I really should STOP surfing the net at 3 in the morning; not to mention paying for stuff through Paypal at this hour. Oh bad, bad J*me.)

Because it COMPELS me to spend.
It starts with a query in the search box.
Then browsing.
Then by clicking on “watch this item in my ebay” (because I’m still trying to resist the urge to bid/buy).
Then throws all self restraint to the wind and click “Buy It Now”.
I’m such a badass.
At least I can’t spend any more cos my PayPal funds are depleted.
BUT. Two little critters are starting their journey to my POB tomorrow.
BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAAAA.

Knights 46, Bulldogs 22
Even though I’ve only been living in Melbourne for a few months, I can tell that this is a city (and state) that doesn’t really give a rat’s arse about the NRL. With a store like this right smack in the CBD, and with the 16 AFL captains involved in the opening ceremony of the 18th Commonwealth Games here in Melbourne (I’m still wondering what the significance of that was), I know I’m in the minority when I mention anything about the Knights, Panthers, Roosters, Sharks, or Eels.
I don’t consider myself a hardcore fan of the NRL, but after spending close to four years in a rugby mad city, who lay claim to the most celebrated half-back (I’m talking Johns here, btw), and having watched the Newcastle Knights fight their way to be the top of the Premiership in 2001, I’m not ashamed to say I’ve caught the bug. Especially when little NRL news is shown here on the telly (only on the national news).
So imagine how thrilling it was when I read that the Knights have soundly defeated the Bulldogs last night – let’s hope they keep it up and get to the finals. Last year’s showing was crap. Gooooo the Knights! *starts knitting a red and blue scarf*
