It’s finally over (soon)!

Thank goodness, Big Brother is finally finishing its run in Australia tonight. We can all heave a big sigh of relief that television will hopefully resume to its normal broadcasting behaviour soon – oh wait. What was I thinking? There’s going to be some girl named Yasmin trying to find her soulmate and hopefully getting hitched with *gasp*, all of Australia’s help! On television! In the timeslot that BB06’s in now! For the next 8 – 9 weeks or so! I can’t wait!

Not!

Went out shopping today with the mütter and Cher, and we ended up in the shoe department of Myer. Seeing that it was having its ‘History Making Sale’, we couldn’t resist taking a peek around. With a 50% discount on every second pair of shoes of equal or lower value, we ended up getting four pairs. The three you see in the photo are mine; and I totally chuffed with them. RRP at over $450, and I got them at close to 80% discount all up. SWEEEET.

And yes, the two pairs of shoes ARE in the same style; I’m starting to be one of those people that get items in multiple colours if they’re worth it. And they’re comfy, sensible, work-ish shoes, so why not?

Tried to make an apple galette tonight with the two apples that were left in the fridge, but it didn’t turn out really well since they weren’t baking/cookng apples. It was perfectly fine taste-wise though. The frangipane (almond flavoured filling) I made with it helped, I think. :D

Cosplay!

No, not for myself – first of all, I’m not big on spending a ridiculous amount of money on costumes; nor am I good enough to sew myself any fancy dress, and also, I’m not really into the whole dressing up thing – although I have no problems with my dollies doing so!

And thus, I’m sewing Catie (yay, the darling’s back home!) an outfit modelled afer Morodashi from xxxHolic. Hell, I’ve already done Catie’s hair up in Moro’s hairstyle.

UPDATE: I’m getting better at this handsewing thing, I think! This time, it’s only taken me one night to complete – wings and all! I was just happy that it fitted, actually. Patterns and I don’t have an affinity; no matter how closely I keep to the pattern and cutting process, I’ve got so many failed attempts where the outfit just didnt fit.

Now I’m going to get started on Marudashi’s (Moro’s partner) outfit. As soon as I can find a decent picture of said outfit! :D

Don’t they have anything else better to do?

Just read this article, and must say, I’m rather miffed by how some people can be such idiots. What’s wrong with taking photos of scenery/objects other than obvious statues and landmarks?

“It was just the facades of buildings, things that would be of no interest to put in a photo album.”

OH PLEASE.

I was an architecture student, and I must be such a weirdo to actually take an interest in the facades of buildings. Incidentally, I have photos of the facades of several buildings around Melbourne, including the Commonwealth Law Courts.

Students and photographers find everyday objects and details so much more interesting to capture on film. And one can find beauty in the most unexpected things. Can you tell I’m miffed? I don’t frequent the Southgate areas to take photos very often, but I’ll be sure to make a conscious effort not to visit there anytime soon.

Proof that my fiancé doesn’t balk at my dolly obsession, and that he does try to take an interest – so much so that he’s managed to rope his dad into it as well. The photo was taken in Tamworth while we were there visiting family friends, and as Tamworth is the country music capital of Australia, it would have to have a BIG GOLDEN GUITAR right smack near the edge of town. Go figure. There’s heaps of other photos taken during my time in Newcastle; unfortunately, I was in such a rush to get to the airport on the day I was supposed to leave for Melbourne, that they’re all still sitting in James’ camera. :|
