No, not for myself – first of all, I’m not big on spending a ridiculous amount of money on costumes; nor am I good enough to sew myself any fancy dress, and also, I’m not really into the whole dressing up thing – although I have no problems with my dollies doing so!
And thus, I’m sewing Catie (yay, the darling’s back home!) an outfit modelled afer Morodashi from xxxHolic. Hell, I’ve already done Catie’s hair up in Moro’s hairstyle.
UPDATE: I’m getting better at this handsewing thing, I think! This time, it’s only taken me one night to complete – wings and all! I was just happy that it fitted, actually. Patterns and I don’t have an affinity; no matter how closely I keep to the pattern and cutting process, I’ve got so many failed attempts where the outfit just didnt fit.
Now I’m going to get started on Marudashi’s (Moro’s partner) outfit. As soon as I can find a decent picture of said outfit!

Proof that my fiancĂ© doesn’t balk at my dolly obsession, and that he does try to take an interest – so much so that he’s managed to rope his dad into it as well. The photo was taken in Tamworth while we were there visiting family friends, and as Tamworth is the country music capital of Australia, it would have to have a BIG GOLDEN GUITAR right smack near the edge of town. Go figure. There’s heaps of other photos taken during my time in Newcastle; unfortunately, I was in such a rush to get to the airport on the day I was supposed to leave for Melbourne, that they’re all still sitting in James’ camera.
The server’s been acting mighty strange of late – my mail directory mysteriously disappeared from the face of the planet, and none of the blog entries I’ve entered actually appeared on the blog. Pah. Not going to redo any of them (what’s the point?), so will just have to whinge and live with it.
Back in Melbourne (ah, sweet Melbourne!), and I’m pleasantly surprised that a lovely contributor to the Melbourne Metblog has actually wrote an entry about my dollies. Blog entry can be read HERE.
Eva’s adorable Faye is visiting me and the girls for a couple of weeks while my Catie is staying over at Eva’s place. I’ve lusted (there is no other word for it) over the Kozy Kape Blythe for the longest time now, and with the inflating prices recently, the next best thing to owning one (damn my finances!) is to have Eva’s Faye visit.
THANK YOU EVA!
Loads more photos of this adorable girl (plus my girls!) to come over the next few weeks as we explore Melbourne, and then Newcastle when we head there for a break. I’m just giddy with excitement from the prospect.

Yesterday wasn’t the best day for outdoor photography, but it sure was nice catching up with dolly people over tea. Met Gin’s Winsome (formally’s Helen’s) and I squealed with glee and couldn’t stop playing with her soft soft hair. Yes, weird, I know.
Lens, Winsome is enjoying life in Melbourne and is doing so well, as you can see from Gin’s photos!
Walked home after the meetup, just because I like the foggy, chilly day in general (of course, I was wearing my trusty pair of thongs – I’m an all weather thong wearing person), and felt happy and contented with the world. Not very often does that happen lately, so that was nice.
Stopped along the gardens and near the Shrine of Remembrance to take photos of my two girls, and of course managed to look suspicious behind the hedge just as it was time for the Australian flag to be lowered at the memorial site. I think I might have startled a couple of tourists too, when I got up and faced the flag as it was being lowered.
Back to the books – just three more papers to go. But soon, the boy is coming down to Melbourne for a visit! Hoorah!
