Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep my crafty and dolly posts to a dedicated blog there from now on. And from what I’ve heard – it beats Livejournal hands down. Can’t be bad, hey?

Going out tonight – and I don’t really want to. :S  Meeting up for coffee with an old mate from architecture days (that’s more of a buddy of James’ than mine), and hopefully, conversation won’t dry up before the order’s arrived.

Been out today with the future mom-in-law while she runs her errands, and we did stop by the local Salvos just for a look-see – yes, I was looking for abandoned Kenner Blythes, but I do that anyway everytime I go into a store that looks like it has potential. Ended up with 2 retro/kitsch dessert bowls for $1.20, and picked up a Pierre Cardin oxford shirt for James for $3.50. Bargain!

Have an interview on Monday, so at least it’s not all stagnent on the job front either. Yay me!

A couple of nice jobs have come onto the market, and I’m hoping I’ll land one of them – so far, I’ve been instructed to do silly problem-solving/critical thinking online tests for the job selection criteria, which I’m chuffed to say I scored in the 96 percentile range. I might have to frame up the results page because I’m lame and sad that way. That, and I’ve also found out that apparently, my top preference in work categories is in Administration, followed by Sales. WHO KNEW?! The Creative field came third; damn it. All these years, I thought I was actually in the right course by doing architecture. 

Have been doing some sewing lately too: so far in a week, I’ve made two new dolly dresses and some stockings. Other than that, no creative endeavours at all. No photos, no craft, no arty farting around. I miss the dolly gang heaps – mainly because they were my main hanging-out buds in Melbourne (you can tell I’m just the social butterfly, no?). ALTHOUGH, my friday night is going to look a little less sad tomorrow because I’m going for the annual mid-year architecture bash and catching up with the Newcastle crew.

Now I’m just hoping I’ll get pissed enough to be able to sleep through a certain someone’s snores during the night. Hur hur.

I’ll be happy to have a dirty unwashed face and not be able to fall asleep at night if the damn redness and itch would just go away.

Been busy with job hunting and the like, that’s all. So far, have been to two interviews in a week, not to mention having done an online test for work preference and to test problem solving skills (aka. one of those lame IQ-esque tests) for a largish company. Of which I scored in the 96 percentile range. Go me – I think the sample size is relatively small, that’s all.

Have also just gone past the 5 year 3 month hurdle with the boy; and now he’s annoyed with me for the smallest reasons. *sigh* Isn’t it supposed to get easier the longer you know someone? I keep on telling myself I have to follow a rule I set regarding us: “don’t ask, don’t tell”. But I’m shite at keeping to it, and so far, it hasn’t been working.

Not!

Went out shopping today with the mütter and Cher, and we ended up in the shoe department of Myer. Seeing that it was having its ‘History Making Sale’, we couldn’t resist taking a peek around. With a 50% discount on every second pair of shoes of equal or lower value, we ended up getting four pairs. The three you see in the photo are mine; and I totally chuffed with them. RRP at over $450, and I got them at close to 80% discount all up. SWEEEET.

And yes, the two pairs of shoes ARE in the same style; I’m starting to be one of those people that get items in multiple colours if they’re worth it. And they’re comfy, sensible, work-ish shoes, so why not?

Tried to make an apple galette tonight with the two apples that were left in the fridge, but it didn’t turn out really well since they weren’t baking/cookng apples. It was perfectly fine taste-wise though. The frangipane (almond flavoured filling) I made with it helped, I think.

And thus, I’m sewing Catie (yay, the darling’s back home!) an outfit modelled afer Morodashi from xxxHolic. Hell, I’ve already done Catie’s hair up in Moro’s hairstyle.

UPDATE: I’m getting better at this handsewing thing, I think! This time, it’s only taken me one night to complete – wings and all! I was just happy that it fitted, actually. Patterns and I don’t have an affinity; no matter how closely I keep to the pattern and cutting process, I’ve got so many failed attempts where the outfit just didnt fit.

Now I’m going to get started on Marudashi’s (Moro’s partner) outfit. As soon as I can find a decent picture of said outfit!
